Questions, bugs, purchase trouble, privacy requests — this is the place

Email [email protected] — the single address for everything below (privacy@ reaches the same inbox). We read every message and aim to reply within 2 business days, and within 30 days for formal privacy requests.

Before you write

Three details resolve most reports, so include them if you can:

A purchase didn't arrive

First, reopen the game with an internet connection. Purchases interrupted by a lost connection or the app closing mid-transaction are re-delivered automatically the next time the game starts and reaches the store.

If it still hasn't appeared, email us with the order number from your Google Play or Apple receipt and we will sort it out. Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, since we never receive it: Google Play refunds · Apple refunds.

I changed phones, or lost my tank

Your save lives on your device, and the game also keeps a backup copy in your own Google Play Games account (Android) or iCloud account (iOS). Nothing is backed up to us — we have no server and cannot see your tank.

To move to a new phone: sign in to the same Google or Apple account you used before, install the game, and let the loading screen finish. It looks for your backup while it loads and picks it up automatically. If you were signed out when you last played the old phone, or iCloud was off for the game, there is no backup to find and the progress on that device is the only copy.

If your progress vanished without you uninstalling, that is a bug and we want to see it — please write to us.

My fish died

That may be working as intended. Predators take fish permanently if they are not driven off in time, and that is a deliberate part of the game rather than a fault. Illness is always recoverable: keep the water clean and a sick fish recovers on its own, or you can cure it immediately.

Deleting your data

Uninstall the app. That deletes the save file and everything else the app has stored on your phone, immediately and permanently. You can also clear the app's storage in your device settings to reset the game without uninstalling.

The backup copy survives uninstalling — that is what restores your aquarium when you reinstall. To remove it as well: on Android, open the Google Play Games app and use its settings to delete individual game data for Fishful Thinking; on iOS, open Settings, then your Apple Account, then iCloud, and delete the data stored for Fishful Thinking under the option to manage account storage. Menu wording varies between versions — write to us if you cannot find it and we will point you at the current one.

There is nothing to delete on our side — no account, no server, no copy of your tank, and no access to the copy in your own account. If you want that confirmed in writing, or want to exercise any other privacy right, email us and we will respond within 30 days. See the privacy policy for the detail.

The game runs badly or won't start

Send the three details above, and mention whether the app closes on launch or during play. If it is a performance problem, tell us roughly how full your tank was — a heavily stocked tank with a lot of plants is the case most likely to strain an older device.

Accessibility, or an idea

Both very welcome, at the same address. This is a small studio, and a feature request genuinely reaches the person who would build it.

Reporting something serious

If you have found a security issue, or believe a child's information has somehow been collected, write to us with "urgent" in the subject line and we will prioritise it.
